Hello My Name Is...
Hi! My name is Erin Stevens and I’m so excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures. I can’t wait to learn all about your kindergartener, but first, here are a few things about me.
My husband, Mike, and I live in Rock Creek and are both from the Hueytown area. Mike is the pastor at Union Hill Baptist Church in Rock Creek and we love our church family! We have two children: a 4 year old daughter, Sawyer, and a 1 year old boy, Sam. They bring so much joy to our lives. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and state certification from the University of Montevallo in 2006. I earned my Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in reading from Grand Canyon University in 2010. This will be my eleventh year of teaching. I taught first grade for nine years and this will be my second year to teach kindergarten. I love my Oak Grove Elementary family!
My heart’s desire is for your child to love school. Kindergarten is just the beginning of a long journey of education. When children like school, it makes both of our jobs a lot easier and students are more eager to learn and try new things. I get the biggest thrill when students enter our classroom each day excited to learn.
