Let’s Celebrate Read Across America Week!

Each year, schools across the country celebrate Read Across America week during the first week of March. This date was chosen because beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss was born on March 2nd.

This year, our school is going to do several extra fun things to join this special celebration of reading.

Here are some of the things that you can help with from home:

Dress-up Days! Each day will correspond with a Dr. Seuss book title or theme. Be creative and have fun!

Dr. Seuss Book Bookmark Contest! Each student can create their own Dr. Seuss inspired bookmark. Templates will be passed out in class. Bookmark entries are due Monday, February 26th. A winner will be selected from each grade to win a gift card to the Spring Book Fair!

Dr. Seuss Trivia! There will be a competition between classes during the week to see who can get the most trivia questions correct. The class in each grade who has the highest trivia score will win a popcorn snack in library class. The more Dr. Seuss books they read at home, the better your students will do at trivia!
